Stem Cells And Exosome Therapy

Stem Cells

Stem cell therapy has been around for several years with almost unlimited variations, including bone marrow, fat and placental sources. Until the last few years results were mostly anecdotal with no true research.

Stem cells can be harvested from the patients own body. The predominant benefit is knowing the source of the cells used in your treatment. Unfortunately after the age of 30 our stem cells are not as healthy and viable. Additionally the number of stem cells that can be harvested from your bone marrow or fat is very limited (25,000-50,000 stem cells). We now have the ability to obtain up to 2,000,000 stem cells from donated placental and umbilical tissue following a C section.

From recent research we now know that at least 1,000,000 stem cells are necessary to provide optimal results in the disc (within the spine), and even more than 2,000,000 are required for the joint space. Incredible results are now being published following treatment in the spine when the stem cells are injected directly into the disc. We are seeing a dramatic, rapid reduction in pain, increased hydration in the disc as well as some restoration of the disc height we lose with age.

We have performed over 50 placental/umbilical stem cell injections in the past few years with ever improving results as the type and number of stem cells we can obtain are improved. Currently all of our stem cells are obtained in the United States from Utah Cord Bank.
